Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.
If we do go to church expecting a good "performance"kinda makes it hard to obey/repect our leaders...Once a pastor said sometimes people undergo a complete change after they step out of the church building..It helps I guess to know that God is watching us ALL the time...he even knows our thoughts!!There are times I actually have to repent cos of a fleeting thought I've had....True it is good to fear the Lord and may we all continue to be Holy....as He is Holy.
God bless you all

beautiful set of readings and images today.
thanks for the reminders from Ezekiel 34 about what good shepherding looks like. In a day of self serving leadership, i appreciate that God will step in and shepherd his people when the shepherds go off track.

thanks too for the reminder to care for the poor and needy. Yesterday at our church we mobilized a whole sunday around sponsoring children through Compassion Canada. Many kids got sponsored and yet there are many more.
This is one tangible way to invest in the young, needy children of our world.

thanks mike for all you do to stimulate us to read with a view to 'love and good works..."
