Wisdom or money can get you almost anything, but it's important to know that only wisdom can save your life. Notice the way God does things; then fall into line. Don't fight the ways of God, for who can straighten out what he has made crooked?
Enjoy prosperity while you can. But when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. That way you will realize that nothing is certain in this life. (Ecclesiastes 7:12-14)

A New Year that brings with it a New Beginning. Today we set out to begin the daunting task of reading through the entire Bible. For some this will be the first time and will bring with it tons of questions and probably comments like, “What does this all mean?” Some stories will be exciting and better than the entire series of The Godfather or more spectacular than Star Wars. There will also be plenty when you will think of giving up with a statement saying, “God, this is boring and besides, this makes no sense.”

From a veteran Read through the Bible Reader, may I encourage you to stay focused and read even when it seems like you are chewing wood. I began reading through the Word in 1987 and some of the “What in the world does this mean?” have just begun to be answered. Each and every time I go through I get a deeper understanding of the things I grasped at first and at each succeeding reading though and an a simple understanding of things I just had no clue about.

Genesis is the Book of Beginnings so let us come to this book leaving behind our preconceived understandings and ideas, our denominational glasses suspending our disbelief and unbelief believing that God’s Word will explain itself to us in the daylight of His Word.

Whom will he teach knowledge?
And whom will he make to understand the message?
Those just weaned from milk?
Those just drawn from the breasts?
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept,
Line upon line, line upon line,
Here a little, there a little.”
For with stammering lips and another tongue
He will speak to this people
(Isaiah 28:9-11-NKJV)

In the Beginning is our chance to study God’s Principals and Patterns so that we can apply those patterns and principals to our lives.

Notice the way God does things; then fall into line. Don't fight the ways of God

Grace and peace to all in the New Year,
Ramona

Hope that my brothers from St. GILES. Will join me this year on Bible Blog! It will make it a Happy New Year!

Looking forward to another year! This time reading with my family! Encouraging others to join me on this journey. Looking forward to reviewing the "family album" recalling stories, sharing where I was in my spiritual life when God spoke to me through His Word. Looking forward to what He is about to teach me this year! Gresham/Grant's Pass Oregon.

Another year of going through the one year bible. As Ramona has said, each and every time a new revelation is brought forward to me from these words in the bible. Each year I become a little more committed to ensuring I read every day, even in the busyness of life. I am excited to dive in deeper to the text and learn the ways of the lord, which are so opposite to what our world portrays. I have always heard it is good to share goals with other (i.e. accountability) so my goal this year is to read and participate comment section more as I hope all do.

I've read the bible through five times with this site, the last two years a different one. I'm excited to be back in tune with this site as I find I learn something new in reading again. My favorite book or verse right now is John 10:3 "The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. " A fun fact might be the fact that I have a 60lb dog and a 7lb cat, both adopted from my adult college children's care when faced with room mate issues. I've found love can grow where you least expect it to! I currently live in Dallas, Texas, with my husband and live in Denton County. I am a native Texan, born and raised in Fort Worth!

I'm excited that I found the One Year bible Reading Plan and this blog two days ago. I decided to join it. I just finished the reading for today, and a big WOW, there are so many information and great notes. I really enjoy listening to God's words and reading the blog. It's my first time making commitment in reading Bible in one year. Pray that God gives me strength and passion in following the plan every day and know more about Him.

My response to the roll-call questions.
1. No, I've never read the entire Bible before.
2. I'm looking forward to spending time reading God's words every day.
3. My favorite verse is Proverbs 3:5~6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."
4. My native language is Mandarin Chinese, but I want to learn more English from Bible. It takes long time for me to do Bible study in English, but I enjoy learning both God's words and English.
5. I live in Diamond Bar, California. It's about 30 miles east of Los Angeles.
6. No, I don't have a blog or website.

In today's reading, the verse Genesis 1:27 stands out to me, "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them." I am created by God in His image! What a privilege! There must be a purpose for me in this life!

No I have never read the Bible in its entirety but am challenging myself to do so this year.
I am looking to fill in the gaps in my knowledge of the Bible so I can be a better messenger for a god's word.
My favorite verses are from James - 1:2-3 be thankful for trials for the testing of faith teaches perseverance and 4:17 - if one knows the right thing to do but dies not do it, it is like sin to them.
I grew up immersed in the church but fell away into a life if sin as an adult. A personal tragedy lead me back tomGod for support - reading the psalms . I have since grown in faith and am active in a recovery ministry.
I live in mequon Wisconsin .

Buen día,no he leído toda la Biblia anteriormente, espero en este año hacerlo con pasión no por obligación.mi libro favorito bueno son dos: Jeremías e Isaías.Acerca de mi te comento que estoy fuera de mi país para compartir el mensaje.

Reading and creative journaling through the Bible this year with my Inspire NLT! I am so very excited for this journey.

I have read through the Bible several times in the span of a year. It has been a blessing every time, and I am always amazed at how God speaks to me, encourages me and helps to strengthen me in my walk with Him. I'm looking forward to being in a disciplined reading of the Bible again. I live in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I am an artist and am hoping to go back to school to further my skills and knowledge. The Lord may be leading me into the field of Art Therapy. I currently have a Facebook page "Laurie Vanderkleed Made." I have enjoyed making crocheted items, but love all types of art and creating.
