Interesting coincidence that today is the Sabbath Day (Sunday) and we are reading in Mark today about Jesus' attitude toward the Sabbath Day. Sometimes I think we Christians can over-emphasize the importance of resting on the Sabbath (just as the Pharisees did 2,000 years ago). Jesus preached in the synagogue on the Sabbath; today we read that Jesus healed on the Sabbath. As Jesus teaches us in verse 27: "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath."
Note to self: Saturday is modern-day Jewish Sabbath Day. Reconcile that with Christians having Sunday as the Sabbath Day.
Can anyone explain that please?
