Wisdom or money can get you almost anything, but it's important to know that only wisdom can save your life. Notice the way God does things; then fall into line. Don't fight the ways of God, for who can straighten out what he has made crooked?
Enjoy prosperity while you can. But when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. That way you will realize that nothing is certain in this life. (Ecclesiastes 7:12-14)

A New Year that brings with it a New Beginning. Today we set out to begin the daunting task of reading through the entire Bible. For some this will be the first time and will bring with it tons of questions and probably comments like, “What does this all mean?” Some stories will be exciting and better than the entire series of The Godfather or more spectacular than Star Wars. There will also be plenty when you will think of giving up with a statement saying, “God, this is boring and besides, this makes no sense.”

From a veteran Read through the Bible Reader, may I encourage you to stay focused and read even when it seems like you are chewing wood. I began reading through the Word in 1987 and some of the “What in the world does this mean?” have just begun to be answered. Each and every time I go through I get a deeper understanding of the things I grasped at first and at each succeeding reading though and an a simple understanding of things I just had no clue about.

Genesis is the Book of Beginnings so let us come to this book leaving behind our preconceived understandings and ideas, our denominational glasses suspending our disbelief and unbelief believing that God’s Word will explain itself to us in the daylight of His Word.

Whom will he teach knowledge?
And whom will he make to understand the message?
Those just weaned from milk?
Those just drawn from the breasts?
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept,
Line upon line, line upon line,
Here a little, there a little.”
For with stammering lips and another tongue
He will speak to this people
(Isaiah 28:9-11-NKJV)

In the Beginning is our chance to study God’s Principals and Patterns so that we can apply those patterns and principals to our lives.

Notice the way God does things; then fall into line. Don't fight the ways of God

Grace and peace to all in the New Year,

This is my third year with oneyearbibleblog. I used to read passages but I've never read and studied the entire bible before stumbling on this website. It was one of the best things that ever happened to me...a true blessing. Every morning I wake up eager to spend my mornings with Him. It's so hard to just pick one book and one verse but I love the book of Isaiah and John. One of my favorite verses is John 3:16. I live in the only Christian Middle Eastern country called Lebanon. When I'm in the States, I live in Connecticut. I have family members in South Carolina, Tennessee, and Georgia. I bought my first Bible in South Carolina. A fun fact about me is that I love languages and I speak 7 languages. I read my bible in a different language each year hoping I will be able to preach the good news around the world when needed. Finally, thank you Mike for changing my mornings and consequently my life. The Lord used you and your blog to change me. Blessings

Thank you Mike for giving us such an amazing venue to learn God's word and to become closer to Him. Sometimes along with the scripture, it's the songs that really touch me, or the artwork, but what I love the most is the daily reading: Listen to today's Scripture on One Year Bible Online Audio, read by Tom Dooley. This is listed at the top of the page under the list of scriptures for the day. He has such a wonderful voice, and he gives a background about the scripture.
One of my favorite Bible verses is: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Yes, I’ve read bible through this blog two times and once through a plan where it’s read in 3 months. Last year I was able to stick to readings as I’m now retired. I’m really feeling the Lord wanting me to draw closer to Him in prayer, so that’s where I’ll be focusing on this year. My favorite verses are Romans 8:38-39. Something about myself that’s different is that we have 9 chickens🐓. We live in the Midwest where it’s -14 right now brr! No blog here.

Thanks for this Bible blog. Its a real blessing. I have been following it for 2 years. This is my 3rd year.

i am 68 and have never read the entire Bible thru. I am retired in poor health and God forgive me for not starting out every day in his word to guide my life. I was raised in a Southern Baptist church in Oklahoma City. When i was 5 i
Attended a Billy Graham Revial every night for one week. My parents sang in the 500 voice choir lead by George
Beverly Shea, and that is whern I first gave my heart to God. My Dad was the Miusic Minister of the church
Part time, and he also owned a major Retail Appliance store that I never worked in. My mother was the pianist of the church. It was one of the largest churches in Oklahoma City and we had a great music program.
Our You choir had over 60 members and we would tour the US and give concerts in churches with trips to Florida, New York, California, and somehow me Dad was able to get us a concert at the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City, after our concert their head Choral Director came up to my Dad and told him we could sing in their Tabernacle any time we were in town. These trips had great impact on many teens that were members of the youth choir and
the choir witnessed to hundreds of thousands of years that my Dad was the “Part Time”. Music Minister.
My parents were both Sunday School teachers most of their lives, and yet the only time during the week they read the Bible was Saturday night when they read the verses that were covered in that weeks lesson from the
Southern Baptist Quarterly. I was brought up to believe you didn’t need to read the Bible daily if you served the church in other years ago. He left a great legacy, but studying and growing in Gods word was brothers.
My middle brother is a drug addict and stopped going to church. My younger brother is 16.younger than me
and he is a pastor of a small church that he planted 5 years ago. We just.went ona family cruise where 31 out 32 of
Our family went, and wirh the prospect of an early death I am very troubled.
Only God can help us!

John is my favorite book of the Bible

I live in Issaquah, Washington. Just east of Seattle. Our home is on Cougar Mountain at 900 ft elevation.
We can see the snow covered Cascade Mountains, and two lakes from our kitchen window and deck.
The sunrises over the mountains are the most beautiful colors in the sky to remind God has given me
another day
