Several verses caught my eye in this reading, the first is:

1) 1When God created people, he made them in the likeness of God …3When Adam was 130 years old, his son Seth was born, and Seth was the very image of his father. (Genesis 5:1,3 NLT)

Hmm, First man was made in the image of God, and subsequently all the others were made in the image of his father, Adam. There is a BIG difference when we have an image of the original then when we make an image of the “copy” so to speak. (Could this have something to do with the sons of God/daughters of men? Just a thought and I’m not throwing out a theology.)

2) Then the Lord said, My Spirit shall not forever dwell and strive with man, for he also is flesh; but his days shall yet be 120 years.
(Genesis 6:3 AMP)

I used another translation for my second eye-catcher. “My Spirit will not forever strive with man for he is ALSO flesh.” The image God made Adam in, in my humble opinion, was not after our outward appearance. There was something else about us that was placed within us that reflected God’s image back to Him. I think that is a hint for me, for us to get off of the skin color, straight hair curly/nappy hair, wide nose thin note, big lips thin lips kick we find ourselves on in an attempt to demonize each other.

3) It’s not so much as what you know but who you know.

But Noah found grace (favor) in the eyes of the Lord. This is the history of the generations of Noah. Noah was a just and righteous man, blameless in his [evil] generation; Noah walked [in habitual fellowship] with God.
(Genesis 6:8-9 AMP)

Noah’s sons and daughter-in-laws were given favor by God not because of their righteousness but because of their father’s righteousness. Proverbs 13:22 states:

A good man leaves an inheritance [of moral stability and goodness] to his children's children, and the wealth of the sinner [finds its way eventually] into the hands of the righteous, for whom it was laid up.
(Proverbs 13:22 AMP)

Our lives are lived not so much for ourselves but for our progeny. What kind of inheritance are we leaving?

Grace and peace,
Ramona

This is my third day, and I am so glad I found you again. While reading from a prayer journal written by Andrew Murray this morning, I am reminded that nothing happens experientially without daily communication with the Father. He longs to sup with us, to hear our petitions, to lift us above the noise of this earth, and give us peace. My prayer today is this:
Father, I lay my life at Your feet, my hopes, my plans, and my dreams. At the cross where You gave Your life for me, I lay my life at Your feet. Amen

Surrender. To totally trust His will and way. It's the way that sometimes causes us to stumble! But as we yield our wills to His, great and beautiful grace fills our hearts and we are full. How great the Father's love for me. Be blessed beyond measure today and live fuller in Him as you go.
God bless,
Kay

Question of the day notes..Yes, I am going back and reflecting on scripture daily. I want to get me an expo marker and write on my bathroom mirrors -good memorizing this is, because everytime you go in there, not only you but your family fears a verse or two to memorize. 2) I do think of scripture and find comfort in the Word when I'm being tested. 3) I love the Lord's Prayer, Matthew 6:9-13, I love Isaiah 40:31 for comfort and reassurance, and my all time favorite is Psalm 46:10. Be still and know I am God. Because I dont do that enough, so I need constant reassurance, that He has it!. I love bible reading and all was so good. I always get amazed at the longevity of Gods people when the world was still clean, pure, not many sicknesses, and I live Psalms of deliverance and reassurance of Gods love. It's all in there, and there gives me comfort. Be blessed, peace today.

Memorization of scripture is a great way to get through the day. I have some favorites memorized and I repeat them when I feel like I can't focus and seem to have the enemy at my back door. I signed up for the reading to get my nourishment daily. One of my favorites is Zepheniah 3:17-He sings his song over me. John 3:16-17 For God so love the world that he gave his only begotten son; that whomsoever shall believe will not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not come into the world to condemn the world but through Him the world might be saved. I have more that are my stand-by's but also find that reading the bible and studying scripture helps me and helps my children. Psalms 23 is my favorite of all time. It's true we are his sheep and we know his voice. Praise God!!
