Like Mike said,"please filter my comments through the lens of the bible"...I maybe diving into deep water here but here goes...I just couldn't help comparing Cyrus to the church. There are many messianic commnunites now but most of the ones I know here started off in a local christian church.Today more and more christians are praying for Israel to recognise Jesus as their saviour...alot of jews are responding. There was a time a doctrine was spreading that Israel has been rejected by God and all the promises made to Israel are now the church's.God still has a plan with Israel.
I believe it is crucial for every christian to be a "self feeder"I began to question the doctrine I was getting when I came to Christ.I really wanted to get to know the truth but somehow reading through the bible on my own didn't help me much.I have to say being involved in a bible study has really helped me filter out a lot of heresies.
God bless you all.

In order to mature from being just children of faith into mature followers of Christ, we must not always just rely on sermons we find online or books from Christian authors to grow our faith because children are "tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming." We must be strong in our faith so that we are not drawn in and tricked by this world.

We should be united together for God's plan and only God because there is only one God and one Lord. We should use the gifts God gives us to help us be closer to each other and to God.

In Ephesians 4, Paul writes that everything is in unity. There is one Spirit, one Lord, one faith, and one baptism, and one almighty perfect God. He goes on to say that all of us have been given spiritual gifts, according to the measures of Christ. Christ gave some to be prophets, others to be pastors, and some to be evangelist. He gives these gifts for ministry and the body of the church. He than explains that Christ is the head of the church and we are all knit together to form one body, the church, and we edify each other in love. What stood out to me today is how God gives us special gifts to each of us, ans we should wait for him. Often we believe that we know what God wants for us, but we should wait for his will to be fulfilled to us.

I think Psalm 68 is a praise to God, declaring what a powerful and amazing God he is. The first few verses stuck out to me the most. They say that God bears our burdens daily- taking worries from us and putting on his own back- crushes our enemies, and saves us sinners from our wrongdoing. Why would God do that, bearing OUR burdens, crushing OUR enemies, and saving US? God is truly merciful and gracious.

The verses, later on, describe praising God for his great power. "Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth, sing praise to the Lord,to him who rides across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens, who thunders with mighty voice. Proclaim the power of God, whose majesty is over Israel, whose power is in the heavens." What an all-powerful God we worship! He is in charge of everything, from the kingdoms of the earth to the highest heavens. God is most deserving of praise and glory.

The call for unity in today's reading is a constant reminder that whenever we are tempted to criticize, gossip, or judge another believer, one must be slow to speak and exercise extreme caution for we are called to be humble, gentle and willing to bear each other in love. I often think about how we treat each other within the church and if we are worthy to be called His followers.

I like how Paul in Ephesians 4 emphasizes love. He asks us to "[bear] one another in love", "speak the truth in love", and "build itself up in love". It's because that's how we grow in a unified way is under the headship of Jesus and won't be swerved by this world. And that can't be done unless the Spirit fills us to love God and one another.

"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of of peace." This is a great encouragement for me to start with my family and expand it outward. Pray that I'd submit to the Holy Spirit and live it out in my daily life.

So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up. As I church this is our general goal for our church in youth and awana.

11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

To me, these verses really relate to Awana. In Awana, we are blessed to have such wonderful adult leaders to teach us the word of God. Even some of the adult leaders' sons and daughters are teaching us the word of God too.
