We have given goats or chickens as gifts. People really do think it's a wonderful idea to step away from "stuff" and know that someone is being helped. Don't forget about our local Food Banks. There are many people who are suffering because of the economy. A local donation would be appreciated in any community.

we cannot avoid the punishment without salvation, which only comes from Jesus. Because Jesus suffered as a human, he is able to help us and free us from sin.

“We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.”(Hebrews‬ ‭2:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬)God’s salvation requires response from us. “how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.”(Hebrews‬ ‭2:3‬ ‭NIV)

Today's Psalm passages start and end with the same words: "Praise the Lord, my soul." A David's Psalm shows he knew God whole heartedly. Just love to read his Psalms.

“2 We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. 2 For since the message spoken through angels was binding, and every violation and disobedience received its just punishment, ” on this secular festive day, it is also a celebration for the Reformation day. This verse affirms the same conviction that led Martin Luther to His 95 point thesis still need to be taken seriously today. One must know the word personally and intimately so he will not drift away by the current of this fallen world.

World Vision is certainly one of the great organizations. I love Heifer International as one not only buys a goat but the recipient is required to pass on the first born of her goat to another worthy person...and thus one goat can begin to bless many people in that community. Giving to our local food banks is critical today. We collect weekly at our church to sustain our local food bank that seems to have more and more families that need help. This seems the least we can do!!
