From Colossians 1:27-2:6-7 we see how true the phrase is "that it is ALL ABOUT JESUS." The ministry is all about "Christ in you, the hope of glory." And it's this Jesus that we offer the world--Him we proclaim, warning every person, teaching every person, that we may present them perfect (mature) in Christ. And it is for this very purpose that Paul poured himself out---to see people be fully formed in Jesus. What a wonderfully focused 'mission statement' Paul left for us all to imitate.
We spend so much time in our communities running programs but Paul makes it clear here that the priority 'programs/ministries' are the ones that keep Jesus central, and the ones that seek to take those far from Christ, bring them in close with intentionality and grow them up in Christ with passionate intentionality. This is a cause worth giving one's life to--investing in people who invest in people who invest in people, and so it goes.

Jeremiah 4:19-15
God’s anguish, anger and compassion, is Jeremiah's purpose. Jeremiah is not only God’s voice, but, His heart, eyes and ears. The people are skilled at doing evil. The prophets are liars, the priests rule by their own authority. And, the people of Israel...love it this way. This task had to be a very difficult burden for Jeremiah. But, God is with him.

Love how Paul tells the church to continue to live your lives in Christ and be thankful. As you acknowledge that, He is the head of the church and has everything you need. He is the embodiment of God, in all His fullness.
Colossians 1:18-2:7
6 So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, 7 rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

I am reminded, though times are difficult, God is always Holy and can do amazing things. He is not limited!
Psalm 77
13 Your ways, God, are holy.
What god is as great as our God?
14 You are the God who performs miracles;
you display your power among the peoples.

As in Jeremiah’s time, do not call sin good...
Proverbs 24:23-25
23 These also are sayings of the wise:
To show partiality in judging is not good:
24 Whoever says to the guilty, “You are innocent,”
will be cursed by peoples and denounced by nations.
25 But it will go well with those who convict the guilty,
and rich blessing will come on them.

Shalom 🙏🏼

When I read COL 2:6-7 in the message version it stated it this way:
“My counsel for you is simple and straightforward: Just go ahead with what you’ve been given. You received Christ Jesus, the Master; now live him. You’re deeply rooted in him. You’re well constructed upon him. You know your way around the faith. Now do what you’ve been taught. School’s out; quit studying the subject and start living it! And let your living spill over into thanksgiving.” Colossians‬ ‭2:6-7‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This spoke to me. How many times do I think about putting God first or study about it etc versus actually doing what I read & living it. This says start living it! And as you live it let the thanksgivings roll. This convicted me. We should of course stay reading & getting in his word as that helps with the continual & daily renewal of our mind, plus it helps us in our path to grow & learn BUT we need to DO something with those words we read & start living them
