Exodus 13:17-15:18

I decided on the first of the year to make Ecclesiastes 7:13, as it read in the NLT be my focal point this year. It reads: Notice the way God does things; then fall into line. Don't fight the ways of God, for who can straighten out what he has made crooked?

Because of that resolute, this year it seems that without even actively looking those key verses or ideas, finding out how God does things, I am drawn to His examples and so it is with the following verse,

When Pharaoh let the people go, God led them not by way of the land of the Philistines, although that was nearer; for God said, Lest the people change their purpose when they see war and return to Egypt. (Exodus 13:17 AMP)

So often, I fight against doing things God’s way because it doesn’t make sense, but God’s ways are not our ways. When it seems like that which I’m trying to escape from is breathing down my neck and I think I am about to fail because of some unknown sin or missed direction, and or even think God has left me, I am just being used as a set-up for God to defeat that which has threatened me and desires to take me back into captivity.

There are so many things in this reading that I’ve never really studied that can tell me, show me just how God does things so I can fall into line and I will try to study them throughout the day and post back tonight.

Grace and peace,
Ramona

Yes, Ramona, I have learned that the set back is a set up that the Lord orchestrated and it is a wonder to see!

comments and QOTD: I have noticed the more I stay in the Word, and His worship, the other fades out. Yes..I still listen to 80's, 90's, 00's @ times but my spirit yearns for worship, encouragement, shortly after. Balance is everything!

Ex 13:17-15:18
The Lord knew what the Israelites were facing and knew the mental state of the group. Even though, appearance wise, they looked like an army-mentally they were not ready for battle. The Lord knew opposition would face them if they shortcut their journey-so-therefore they headed to the wilderness instead.

Sometimes God will have you turn back when it makes the enemy think you are confused, but that's when the Lord will have the victory. Don't ever question the direction God has for you-his ways are perfect and He has already claimed the victory.

I love Moses' faith. Here is a man who was so clumsy, slow in speech, hesitant-afraid little man who questioned everything when we first met him. Now, he's like, "don't worry, be still, God's got this, you won't ever see the Egyptians again." (paraphrase, of course). I love the power of God in man's life.

Matthew 21:23-46

Fear traps people-even the biggest bully, the meanest intent-if the Pharisees think that a riot will come against them publicly-they bid their time-they hate Jesus but they're not stupid-many support Jesus right now in the story. I love how Jesus matches wits w/ the best of them. Love to emulate Jesus and follow His Ways.

Ps 26:1-12

v7 and 8 are so beautiful

Love- sing a song of Thanksgiving and tell of your wonders.

v8. I love Your Sanctuary Lord, the place where Your Glorious Presence dwells.

Amen!!

Prov 6:16-19

May I never be like these 7 detestable things and always be humble, honest, pro-life, heart for Jesus, feet that race toward Righteousness, a Good Witness for the Lord, a person that mends family and loves unity.

I have been a member of the One year Bible for a number of years. I don't always read the blog but I am pretty faithful about doing the reading or listening to the audio. However, today something drew me back . My walk with the Lord has not always been smooth sailing. I have had some ups and downs. But God has always been faithful. I wonder sometimes if I would have behave just like the Israelite. I love Christian music and will suddenly sings songs that just pop in my head from years pass. I also like the new country music songs . However the lyrics must match my beliefs or I will turn it off. God is constantly working on me and I am still a work in process. He is the Potter and I am the Clay
