I like that verse: Matthew chapter 7 verse 6: "Don't give what is holy to unholy people. Don't give pearls to swine! They will trample the pearls, then turn and attack you." I have been in that situation in which I have given of the treasure the Word has given me whether in college or a loved one or supposed good friend, and they want to argue and dispute the living Word. So I believe that is what these verses mean. Don't waste your time with Words that are non-responsive or effective to certain people. Give the Word to ones who seek and crave understanding. And I do have some friends who like me really love the Word and we get into good discussions. I like blogging and write several scriptures and some of what you write Mike, I share with my friends on facebook and send sweet emails to friends or text ones in need. I try to use as little words and show with actions, however, me being a talker that is really hard for me at times, but I am working on it. and I keep saying in 2013 I am also going to learn to say no sometimes. No I can't do such and such today, or no I can't babysit your child at this time, and so on and so on. I want to please alot of times and it isn't doing me any good when my heart isn't fully in it and it isn't my "best" from God and to God either. I love this site as I have through the years and I thankyou Mike for your diligence!

God Bless

I love seeing my former post on here from prior years.. shows you how long I have followed this blog which I absolutely love!

In 2021 wow.. I can say Mike, I do have an evangelical heart too like you. I share my life daily with coworkers, students, and even love, truth, ministry, and I do "live" social media posts -a morning drive what have you .. of encouragement and love sharing the gospel-it gives me encouragement too.

Gen 18:16-19:38
I like how the Lord took into account the relationship with Abraham when deciding to tell him all that is about to happen to Sodom & Gomorrah.
I have noticed that Lot didn't have the same boldness and obedience Abraham did-when told to flee the town-Lot hesitated not once, not twice but three times! Once that evening-the next morning he was still reluctant, and then finally the angel took him by the arm and pretty much lunged him out of town.
The angels said to go to the mountains and Lot still refused to go asked to go to a small town of Zoar instead. So here Lot was still trying to negotiate and not seeing severity of all this. Doesn't make sense to me...
Not sure why Lot was so afraid, doubtful , a coward, and lacked faith muscles-other than he got away form the shelter of the almighty and allowed the world to be his "god."
Lot was saved because of the faith and intercession of his uncle Abraham, sometimes others can be blessed just because others are praying and interceding for you.

1st story of incest is in this chapter. Ew! This is how the dreadful Moabites and Ammonites came about.

Matthew 6:25-7:14
Gods advice on not worrying ... yes we all need to take heed of that..especially now with covid and pandemics.. take heed and listen people. :-) the bible states. " Today's trouble is enough for today."

Don't judge!
Matthew 7:12 The Golden Rule.. love it!

Ps 8:1-9 Love the sky-moon and stars and the majesty of the earth-Beautiful.. (reminds me of a 3rd day song..your love oh Lord reaches to the heavens)..

So when I say I lack common sense that is wrong because "he grants common sense to the honest" I believe to be honest so that applies to me.. I am claiming it!

The end of Proverbs describes and reminds me of the wicked men in Sodom & Gomorrah. "They take pleasure in doing evil"

I have enjoyed the first 8 days of reading Gods Word and blogging.

Be blessed!

First I’d like to say that the dissertation of the difference of Abraham and Lot as Christians has given me many things to ponder in my heart as I examine my own life.
In response to your request of how we share the gospel today, this is mine. It seems very small to me, but since retirement, I no longer have the daily public encounters. I now relish the technology benefits of texting family and friends for the last 5 years. My daily praying and texting has grown and I praise our LORD for this opportunity of sending love and His wonderful Word. Time with my LORD and prayer truly fill me with joy...
Blessings in Him.

Dee: I really like what you did in looking back in your journal - 13 years. the importance of seeing how we have grown in our Christian walk is very important. Usually nice memories too. Thanks.
